Thanks to the marvellous team at Milano’s Pizzeria Ennis, the children were given the opportunity to learn how to make and bake pizzas … and then taste the delicious dinners in the impressive restaurant!
Not only were the children using practical maths skills while baking, they also had the chance to learn about the properties of the circle, fractions, ratio and proportion and use real life problem solving skills. Younger children counted and numbered the pizzas, and practiced putting the pizza-boxes in order, ready to be served!
During Maths Week (13th – 17th October) Ballycar children also participated in the “Have You Got Maths Eyes?” Project, which encourages children to notice maths in their environment. They have captured photographs and designed posters that prompt mathematical thinking.
The children band staff of Ballycar School would like to say a big “Thank You” to Martin and the team at Milanos for such a wonderful day!
