We celebrated Maths Week recently. Ms O'Carroll gave us a construction challenge. We had to bring recyclable materials to school such as paper rolls and empty boxes. We had to design and make something for our desks using the materials. We had to cover the boxes and rolls using paper. We had to examine the shape of the boxes carefully and count the faces. Then we measured each side and made nets for the shape. We learned about 3D shapes like cuboids and cylinders and cubes. We measured the paper carefully with a ruler and drew the net. We are very happy with our designs.
Both the school`s girls and boys Gaelic teams played very well. The boys' team was (goalie) Sean Duggan, (backs) Ronan Tierney and Luke Mann, (midfield) Oisin Mcinerney and Seadhna Liddy, (forwards) Mark Kelly, Adam Enright and James Gordon. The girls team was (goalie) Ella Fitzpatrick, (backs) Patrice Mann and Avril Moore,(midfield) Lucy Enright and Meave Moore (forward) Meg Towmey and Aoife Garry.
The boys and girls teams made it to the semi-final, the girls lost to Inagh Killnamona and the boys lost to Scoil Chros RÍ. |
